a bittersweet reality

From 01/10/2025 To 21/11/2025

Raffaella De Chirico Arte Contemporanea opens its exhibition season with the group show, A Bittersweet Reality, which will open to the public on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at its Milan space, Via Monte di Pietà 1A.
Five prominent artists on the international contemporary scene: Daniele Galliano (Pinerolo, Italy, 1961), William Grob (London, Great Britain, 1992), Philipp Humm (Saarbrücken, Germany, 1959), Bruno Marrapodi (Milan, Italy, 1983), and Ima Montoya (Bilbao, Spain, 1963), five different and intense perspectives on the world.
A single language: Painting. An ancient yet ever-present medium, it reveals itself here as a tool capable of crossing generations and geographies, conveying a vision of reality that is simultaneously profound, poetic and disenchanted. The title, A Bittersweet Reality, evokes the ambivalent feeling that characterises our present: bitter and sweet, tough and fragile, public and private. The canvas becomes one of the ways to observe the tensions and beauties of our time through the powerfully vital language of painting, constantly evolving, capable of uniting different generations and crossing geographical and cultural boundaries.
With this group exhibition, the gallery confirms its commitment to promoting an international dialogue on contemporary painting, highlighting artistic experiences that, despite their differences, share the desire to explore pictorial language as a tool for critical and poetic inquiry.
